Hey, thanks for checking out the blog! My name is Jarrod Peterson. I’m from Plymouth, Minnesota and graduated from Wayzata High School in 2009.

I attended Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota. I spent three semesters there until I transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Superior.

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in December of 2014 with a degree in Communication (Journalism) and a Coaching minor.

I played basketball at UW-Superior for three years, and led the WIAC in scoring in 2013-2014. I’m now “retired.”

I really enjoy talking, arguing, watching, and playing sports. My favorite sport is basketball, but I love to watch baseball and football. My favorite NFL team is the New York Jets, even though I am from Minnesota. My favorite MLB team is the Minnesota Twins and my favorite NBA team is the Minnesota Timberwolves. I love to watch and learn. I also enjoy doing research.

I interned at KARE 11 (NBC television affiliate in Minneapolis) in the summer of 2014, and I really enjoyed it.

I got my first sports writing job for The Fairfield Ledger in Fairfield, IA in January of 2015. After that, I picked up some freelance work closer to my hometown in Elk River, MN. I got my second sports writing job as the sports editor of The Herald Journal in Winsted, MN, home of Winstock. I worked there for nine months before moving down to Albert Lea, MN to take the sports editor position at The Albert Lea Tribune.

After 14 months, I accepted the sports editor job in Wenatchee, WA in July 2017. And now, I’m unemployed.

Feel free to leave your comments on my blog posts. Though I don’t get many of them, I do enjoy reading them. Also, check out my “Contact Me” page to get in touch with me.
