According to reports, Minnesota and Cleveland “agree” on Kevin Love trade

Kevin Love
According to reports, a deal involving three teams has Kevin Love on the move.

It’s “official”, even though it can’t be actually “official official” until August 23rd, but the Minnesota Timberwolves and Cleveland Cavaliers have a “handshake” agreement on a trade involving Kevin Love. This deal has been in the making since draft night when Cleveland selected Andrew Wiggins with the 1st overall pick in June’s draft. Talks really started to heat up in July when Love said that he would not re-sign or finish out his contract with Minnesota.

NBC Sports Network tweeted two hours ago: “ICYMI: The Cavaliers and Timberwolves have agreed on Kevin Love trade according to a report”. Slam Magazine tweeted “Report: Cavs and T’Wolves Have a ‘Handshake Agreement’ on Kevin Love”. And finally, since Brian Windhorst has been all over ESPN this summer because of LeBron James’ decision to come home, SB Nation: “Per @WindhorstESPN, the Cavs and Timberwolves have a “handshake agreement” for Kevin Love.”

The deal would also involve the Philadelphia 76ers. The Cavaliers would receive Love, Minnesota would get Wiggins and Thaddeus Young, and Philadelphia would get Anthony Bennett and a draft pick.

However, I wouldn’t be surprised if Minnesota tries to squeeze out a draft pick from Cleveland for themselves. This deal is not set-in-stone.

But it’s inevitable.
